The Oakhouse in Axbridge

The Oakhouse is situated in the medieval town of Axbridge, Somerset. As a bar and restaurant, it has long been a part of the community and reopened in March 2024 with a new lease of life offering space for entertainment, sports and separate space for relaxing after a hard day.

Parts of The Oakhouse date back to the 11th Century and features include an ancient well and a large inglenook fireplace. 

Whether you’re new to the area or a local, we’d love to welcome you to visit The Oakhouse for live Sky Sports and TNT Sports, pool table, dart board, jukebox music, home-cooked food and quality drinks.

Our games area and the main bar are both equipped with televisions and screens, ensuring that every goal, slam dunk, and victory lap is captured in high definition. Whether you’re a die-hard football fan or a basketball aficionado, we’ve got you covered.

But that’s not all! Our games area offers more than just a front-row seat to the action. It features a pool table where you can showcase your cue skills and a darts board for those who prefer precision over power. Whether you’re a pool shark or a darts prodigy, there’s a game for everyone.

And when the clock strikes 9pm (on selected weekends), the atmosphere transforms. The same area that witnessed intense matches and friendly banter becomes a dance floor—a canvas for bands to strike up their tunes and discos to ignite the night. The Oakhouse Kitchen will be serving up fresh meals every Friday and Saturday, with Roast dinners on Sunday.
